Like DT I admire your convictions and am sure it will pay dividends finding a nicely bred, well cared for puppy.

Have you tried the puppy list on Champdogs - they appear to have a few litters there.

I know nothing about Akitas, but they seem to do the right things. Even if they don't have a litter, they may be able to pass on details of litters that their studs have sired, or know of other litters available/coming up. A good breeder will be happy to advise you regardless of whether you buy one of their pups or not.
