Re: Beware Of Internet Scammers

Agree with all of above!!!!!!! we were recently looking for a pup (king charles) and came accross soooooooo many scammers - not bright enough to use an original pic though (if you google the particular breed - you can see most of the images used in the ads on google images!) - I contacted the advertising websites and reported the suspect lsitings - which to be honest was pretty ineffectual as about ten more ads appeared for each one taken off.

In the end we contacted rescue centres and breed specific rescue centres to find a dog needing a home....we were also able to get some great advice etc. which has been a great support.

I have heard of so many people being scammed and particuarly dreadful story of an older gent being ripped off for around £1000 (pretty much his entire savings!) - lets do all we can to stop thess idiots!!!!!!!

will be coming with health certificate,KC registration papers. To begin
I will start asking you some questions.
-Are you a breeder?
-Do you have kids?
-Are use to puppies?
-Are you sure that you are going to take care of any of my babies?
-Gift me a Brief Description about your Environment?
-Do you have a vet doctor?
-Were exactly are you located? i am giving out them for free
since they were owned and taken care of by my late daughter whom i
lost to a drunk driver two weeks ago. Due to the mobile nature of my
work since i work with EDICEF,i have relocated to Belfast and now i am
in seminar that would last for 3months and it will not be possible for
me to take proper care of the puppies which was a sole responsibility
of my late daughter. They really do remind me of her sad memories all
the time i look at them and hurt deeply. So, my greatest desire is to
find someone who can properly take care of the puppies and if you can
i will be so grateful, i can arrange for delivery if you cannot come
right up here for the pick. Delivery is sure will be moderate since we
spent just too little bringing the puppies up here.. If this is ok by
you, i will immediately need the following details in order to drop
off the puppies as soon as possible at the delivery agency so that
delivery can be done to your home soonest.
Names in full..........................
Home address.......................
City/Town.....................
Post Code..........................
Land line number............................
Mobile number......................
Be reminded that these puppies are for free and all you will have to
do is to pay £250 only for the delivery of each of the puppies to the
delivery agency which will deliver the puppies to your home. My prayer
is that you love and care for these puppies just as my daughter did
and i will be always great-full to you if you should.. Do let me know
if all is fine. best regard,I have just attach some
pictures of the babies,
Thanks

IF YOU SEARCH THE EMAIL ADDRESS IN GOOGLE YOU WILL SEE JUST HOW MANY ADS THE HAVE POSTED!!

mine and my partner search for a boxer goes on !!

Re: Beware Of Internet Scammers

Hello. My name is Mickey. I am brand new to the internet and I really don't understand how buying anything on the internet works. I want to buy things for my lurchers but I don't know how you are meant to know whether you are being scammed or not. I find it hard to buy things in the pet shop as my local shop is a tiny village shop. I need new coats for my dogs and they don't fit into the normal dog shape. There are loads of lurcher coats on the net that I would love to buy if I knew it was honest. Am I being silly? Is it easy to get scammed like this or are these two different things. sorry for being so ignorant. And yes, I am actually serious!

Re: Beware Of Internet Scammers

I too have had loads of stuff off ebay and have never had any trouble Mickey

I was helping my Mum look for a puppy/young dog recently and I too came accross scammers on the websites asking for delivery fees and offering free puppies, i'll copy in some of the replies i got but remove any identifying info...

"Hi

all i can do for you is to arrange for a home delivery over to you with a delivery agency here in XXXXXX and that is going to cost you 200pounds which you would pay to the delivery agency and that would be all you have to pay as i am giving the puppy out for adoption to only a lovely home so you would have to promise me that you would take good care of the puppy,so here are the infor mations i would need for the delivery of the puppy over to you

YOUR FULL NAMES
CITY
HOUSE ADDRESS
POSTCODE
PHONE NUMBERS

this i would give to the delivery agency to contact you on the payment and delivery schedule of the puppy.

my regards"

And another...

"hello ,
> Nice reading from you about your full contact over these puppy , they
> are pure and 12weeks old breed puppy , they are well potty trained ,
> love to play
> with kids and other their new home . i am looking for a home that is

> like one of your own family member . We are given them out due to the

> used to give to them , that is why i thought it wise to look for
> a good and suitable home for them.
> They are been offer for £200 as mentioned on the advert .
> how soon do you intern to have this puppy?
> do you have kids at home?
> how is the nature of your home and compound?
> are you married?
> do you have experience in dogs?
> where actually in xxxx are you base ?
> i would be as much delighted if you are going to promised me that
> you are going to sent me monthly pics of the puppy so as for me to see
> how
> the puppy is doing in your home.
> i am located in x x x x
> please i would as well advice you give me a call to confirmed that
> you received my mail.
> thanks"

It frightened me a bit because I began wondering if I could trust anyone... luckily I found my Mum and Dad a gorgeous puppy from a lovely family who were moving and couldn't look after him any more but this experience has certainly taught me a lesson as I didnt come across anything like this when I got my 2 girls...
