Re: Urgent Foster home needed

I think you are doing a great job trying to save these dogs - well done you have my greatest respect.

I totally agree with you a person that works all day is not right for any dog, let alone one with anxiety problems like Soldier.

Please continue to post on this forum, even if it just once makes a difference to whether a dog lives or dies it is worth is surely and please let us know any progress on these dogs as most of us are thinking about them, even though we are not able to take them in.

Can anyone help please, Soldier's seven days are up on Wednesday and he needs to go into a home. We can transfer him to boarding kennels but he is doing himself some serious harm in kennels.
I'm sure you do a wonderful job, something I was trying to point out to you but you wouldn't let me, and when I kept on pointing out that it was MISLEADING stating that he was going to die TOMORROW (see the above quotes and the replies...) you kept changing the subject.

I'm also made up that Soldier found a place in the HOUR AND A HALF since I rang you. If he already had a place, rather than being quite rude you could've mentioned it?

As for the working from 9 till 5? I do. My husband works from home. But I didn't get a chance to mention that.

Sorry to see you're so naffed off about this, but I figured a home with animal lovers in conditions better than a kennel would be better than putting him down.

Re: Urgent Foster home needed

As I explained to you we had no choice over that but you continued to have a go at me, again, as I said to you last night if you want to object contact the Dog Warden, at least we do have their full co-operation with these dogs, they do help us as much as they can with what they have and even allow us to take dogs to the vet when in the pound for treatment which they are not allowed to give.

Myself and several others have spent several days trying to get a foster place for this dog as well as trying to get people to transport 2 Rotties, many are willing to transport but their vehicles are not big enough for this run. The last thing I needed was you giving me a lecture on something I had no control over. You were extremely rude to me on the phone and were blaming me for this.

No, it is not better for any dog with seperation anxiety to spend all day on their own especially the dogs that are damaging themselves as much as Soldier is doing.

After me explaining to you why we have to do this, you came on here and had a go at us, that is extremely unfair, we are all volunteers, we give our time and money for these dogs. You kept pointing things out to me over and over again even though you were told I couldn't do anything about it. You were also very insulting to me making out I didn't work for Rochdale Dog Rescue.

As you see, he would be put to sleep if we don't get a rescue place or funds not available for emergency boarding, in no post on any board has it been said that there are no funds available for his boarding, so you were jumping the gun by saying he was going to be pts.

Just because you don't agree with something, doesn't mean the other person is wrong, they could just be right.

Re: Urgent Foster home needed

I am going to be very straight. I work full-time I have a SBT he's 3 years old and two kittens. My dog has the opportunity of accompanying my hubby to work which he has done in the past but he prefers to be at home - (he started to refuse to put his safety harness on).

I will hold my hands up I am not a suitable owner for one of these beautiful and yet unfortunate dogs as they need more than I can give them.

However my pets are well cared for and their needs are fulfilled.

As I own pets and require advice and opinions from time to time I feel I am entitled to be a member on this forum.

Anyone can pop in for a cuppa and see us to check my pets health and living conditions, which are a far cry from those you have to save, and it is very sad. It's the dogs previous owners that make me sick not genuine pet lovers that work.

I urge you not to leave the forum, there are people who can help you, even I could offer transport if the need arose from and to this neck of the woods.

Sue

[QUOTE=Mattie;241034]This is for Soldier who came into the pound and will be with Rochdale Dog Rescue as soon as his 7 days are up.

How long would he need a home for, dose he get on with other dogs.
