Re: Applaws dog food pouches

Just out of interest, their chicken doesn't come from Thailand anymore? Or am I mixing them up with another brand?

Yes the chicken is from Thailand. I think most brands source their chicken from outwith the UK. Barking Heads use British Poultry in their dry food, and I think Arden Grange do so also.

But they wouldn't say that the meat comes from "responsible and sustainable resources" surely

Hmm, I must look into that.

Burns say their chicken is from free-run chicken in the UK.

Quite the opposite, the advertising standards authority made them remove the part of their advertising that states the meat they use is from chickens fed hormone free organic food. Which basically says to me the chickens are hormone fed. Not something you'd want in your pet.

Re: Applaws dog food pouches

I know Lyceum - what I meant is that other manufacturers who use chicken from Thailand wouldn't say that they are using meat that has been responsibly sourced. IMO that is quite a misleading claim to make.

Incidentally, I still come across Applaws making those claims though. Or maybe it is other websites selling them that haven't yet adjusted their marketing language.
