Beware of the gard dog!

is now the sign we have had to put on our garden gate!
yesterday i was sat in the living room with mason asleep next to me and Callen asleep on the floor when i saw a man walk past the window and in to the back garden! never have seen this man before as my o/h came down from the bathroom i told him some weird man is in our garden! what do i do, by this time mason had woke up so him and my o/h walked to the back garden to find the gate wide open. and a man reading the gas and electric meters!
my oh asked him what the hell he thought he was doing letting him self on our propity with out knocking and leaving the gate open and what if mason had bitten him not knowing who he was,
he said that if mase bites him it would be our fault and he had the right to let him self on to our propity!
so we gone and got a sign warning people!
not that mason would bite but hes got a mean bark which is enough to scare some one!

but im sure if mason did bite some one who let them selves in to his garden would it really be our fault?

Re: Beware of the gard dog!

I think it would be classed as your fault yes. A bit like that farmer who went to prison for shooting someone who had broken into his property.....

Mad eh???

Re: Beware of the gard dog!

Its Sad but true that it would probably be your fault, remember years ago they stopped selling the gate signs "My dog Bites" as it was you telling people you had a aggressive dog

Re: Beware of the gard dog!

I'd personally take the sign down and replace it with a sign saying "Dogs loose - DO NOT ENTER" that way you are not implying that you own/have a dangerous dog, just that you have a dog that may get loose

If the dog bites someone and you say you're sorry then you're admitting guilt. Same goes for car accidents, etc. Crazy world indeed.

If my dog bit someone I wouldn't be apologising, I'd be kicking them for getting blood on my dog!
