Carrots

Does anyone else here feed their dog carrots. My little man is mad for them, they are by far his favourite treat.

They also help clean his teeth, freshen his breath and I keep them in the fridge or even lightly freeze them so they are great for calming his gums as he is teething.

If anyone else does this how many do you give your dog? I can't see that they do any harm and sometimes I am giving him them daily and he just loves them.

Re: Carrots

Most dogs cant digest carrot enough for it to be of any major nutritional value.

As long as its not upsetting your pups tummy (gives mine colitis if i feed a whole one) then its perfectly safe to give daily.

Re: Carrots

Rupert would choose a Fish4Dogs treat over a carrot, but he still likes them lots

He gets maybe 2-3 a week, give him something to munch on instead of shredding his bed or toys, lol!

ETA: like Nonnie said, I don't think it gets digested. Cooked might do, I've never really compared, but we regularly have orange chunks in poop lol!
