Oh interesting, never thought about adding seeds to their diet. Thanks

Thanks, lady_r0gue, I think that might be it. I see that we can buy it from the wonderfully named Wiggly Wigglers! Wiggly Wigglers, the really rural store

It looks like an amazing product!

durr - and how pray tell is your vet checking them for worms? im sure he's not sticking his head up your dogs bottom! so please do enlighten me how your marvellous vet can tell if your dog has worms just by looking at it! im not saying you are neglecting your dogs but merely pointing out you cant tell if a dog has worms by looking at it! no one can!

Re: Carrots

Blimey I've fed grapes and raisins to my dog in the past, not large quantities but now I've read this thread I'm never going to give him them again. Will just be sticking to dog food - and carrots...

Re: Carrots

my little chi's absolutely love the carrots!!!! they even know when im chopping them up and come into the kitchen a pester me until i give in! lol they like them better then any 'dog teat' and they are cheap!

Apparently they are good for teething puppies, and I heard you can freeze them to help sooth sore gums.

My vets have once when we first got zeb as a puppy, then when we got bear he could tell by the tummy shape. Maybe some vets are better at seeing the signs then others. If it works for JSR and her 16yr old (can i say say what an age!!) dog hasnt had any problems then it must work for her. it might not work for you and your dog it doesnt mean that it doesnt!

I dont worm regulary they get plenty of carrots well after bear stopped think we had poisoned him lol and they get apples (and the core but my son normal steals the pips first and plants them) they get wormed normally every 4-6months unless i see signs i hate pumping them full of chemicals

Re: Carrots

yes - you can tell a wormy pot belly particularly on puppies but just because a dog doesnt have a pot belly doesnt mean it doesnt have worms - this is my point you cant always tell by looking - i will point out here that i used to work at a vets so im not talking from experience of my own dogs but many many dogs in a veterinary environment - mine get wormed every month with advocate and every 3 with drontal.
