New Dog laws

Does anyone know about these new dog laws coming in next year about where or where u cannot let your dog of the lead in our local newspaper it said that any sports pitch and enclosed park we cannot let our dogs of the lead or we will be fined £80.00 so if this is coming into force I have nowhere where I live to let my dog of the lead
Does anyone else have this problem?

Re: New Dog laws

I would imagine that would be a local law rather than uk wide... would depend on local council etc!

Re: New Dog laws

we have nothing like it
its prob you local council in that case i would get others and have a moan if they do that
they should have some dog parks where you can let your dog off lead
why should they be the ones to suffer becuase of people not picking the dog poo up
thats prob why its going on baning dogs from parks

Re: New Dog laws

A few local councils seem to be going this way now, bringing in bylaws preventing dogs being off lead, it will almost certainly spread.

Re: New Dog laws

I don't have a problem with that in fact I find it a good idea.

I personally find it comforting that other dog owners should be made to keep there dogs on a lead and under control...

I am a rottie owner and I find it offence that people allow there dogs to run free.

If my dog is on his lead and someone elses dog comes running over I personally am not going to allow my dog to get injured so I wont be holding on to no lead.

I can say that on quite a number of occasions I have had to shout @ someone for there dog running free and in the general direct of mine.

and god help the person who's dog may get caught by mine and let them start on with the dangerous dog line --- I'll go to town........

Re: New Dog laws

Our council is testing the waters on this and have asked for dog owners opinions. They have mine and I am against it dogs need to run free.

Smile Re: New Dog laws

Hello,
Where I live in Brighton the laws here most people seem to flaunt because its turning into a ghetto in some parts... Dogs not on leads are usually in the hands of tramps but i must admit their dogs are well behaved than most.. One good thing about Brighton is due to public demand and the residents sticking together we have got about 3 quarters of the public beach (roughly 3/4 mile to choose from between Brighton Pier and Brighton Marina) which is dog frendly all year round. I myself own a Miniture Jack Russell which is suprisingly well mannered but can be nervous with regards to new people because he had alot of abuse from the farm i bought him off of but its all ironed out or most is...
I tend to have him on his lead when around town but if popping out to the car to get something or going for a stroll along the beach i will admit his not on a lead because its not exactly busy in either place....
