well,

i suppose that a molosser (great dane) if properly trained and socialised is a pleasure to have around because of its calm nature.

i do prefer females though, they are smarter than the males (if you have a great dane on the run following a bitch in heat you have little to no chances of getting it back, while dealing with heat in te female is pretty straight forward.

then there is the option of neutering in that case only thing to think about is the cocking while on walking for the males...

or better still a mix molosser, when properly bred and raised, crosses or mutts have an average healthier life (and the insurance is also cheaper) although you might want a pure breed for show or status....

Hi
Just a few points for you I am a friend of jay & martins Aritaur Dobermanns - Breeders of Dobermanns for Work, Show and Pet
any of there pups are chosen for you and your life style with back up only a call away also training sessions for any aritaur dogs or friends of .

I have posted here today check it out under dog rescue and kennel shop warning ,

I have 3 dobermanns and a siamese 9 months old .

I have used Bracco for stud on one of my girls and now her pup 3 1/2 has been mated with Falk the lady who ownes her is in yorkshire ,( 12 pups due next week )
my point is all dogs male and female have all been health tested and temperment is always formost all pups come with a contract .

my male Keaton is very laid back he is a PAT dog ,Tia is bomb proof and little Rogue well she lives up to her name .
if I can be of any help let me know or speak to jay for any advice
