I hope they will be! I have a long time to do really intense research. I just think one of these really breeds would suit our lifestyle. Another reason i decided against a giant breed. It takes a lot longer for the bones to fuse enough to go on highly energetic walks etc.
I need a dog that will fit into the whole house routine and that includes long long walks! And plenty of metal fun!

I just want to know what its like living with one!! Experiences! I understand the pro's and con's etc

And i would definately be getting a GSD from working lines if i have to buy. I would want a straight back and low hip scores etc etc

What do you find the best foods for them? How much excercise for your own dog? (I know they need a lot once they are mature, and i also know not to excercise them too much as pups due to bone formation etc) I have an ESS so am well used to pretty much endless physical and mental stimulation LOL!!

Is your calm in the house? Did you find it easy to train/mostly easy?

Really i want personal experiences!!

Well Zara is very calm in the house, she rarely barks in my house. Sometimes she doesn't even bark when the postman comes!

She will bark if someone comes to the door in my house - but usually it is more of a yap than a big deep bark.
However she is totally different in my BF's and mums house as she will bark louder if someone comes to the door and it is a deeper bark.

I taught her from day one when I moved in to my flat that she had to be quiet (I didn't want any neighbours complaining) so rather than barking she will get excited and starts phasing rather than barking, which works for me

She will let me know when she wants out and when she is going to be sick - simply by getting my attention, even in the middle of the night. I usually sleep like a log, but I always know when she wants out.

She is also very quiet in the house and she has a lot of manners.

She is territorial of her garden and home, however once someone is accepted in to the house she is usually fine with them as long as they are calm and not threatening.
She can be rather protective at night, I don’t mean trying to eat people, but she is on her tip toes and she will give drunken people a certain look/glare, which is usually enough.
She also doesn’t really like getting attention from strangers, however once they have been accepted in to the house then she loves the attention and tummy rubs.

I thought training her was good as she will do basically anything for her ball. Her re-call is 99% of the time great. Puddles are her down fall as she is obsessed with water – the little monkey lol
On the odd occasion she can go without a proper walk which is off-leash for at least an hour and doing OB work. However she will need some mental stimulation instead, such as find-it games in the house.
She also totally adores my nephews and she doesn’t really bother my baby niece which is good.

Re: Boxer or GSD..advice please!

Thanks Robyn!!! I really appreciate that insight to Zara's life! She sounds amazing!!

That is the sort of dog that would easily fit into this house! Although they would probably learnt to bark when someone strange comes to the house due to my ESS doing it!! Lol!!! But thats absolutely fine, i can train him/her to ''shush'' on command too.
