Cassie my little prophet
So as some of you will know i got a 10 months old bitch that i named Cassie. She seems to be settling in fine. Still trying to figure out what breed's are in her, I've uploaded some pictures to my profile so feel free to check her out and let me know what you think. How do i deal with separation anxiety? oh, and how can i tell if she's in heat?
thanks |

Re: Cassie my little prophet
hey
she looks border collie mix. when shes in heat she will possibly become more loving towrads u and wont want to leave your side plus she will constantly lick herself down below and she will have a discharge coming from her womanly bits aswell. this can last upto a month. Please dont take her for walks at this time and confine her to play and exercise in the garden |

Re: Cassie my little prophet
LOL, oh yeah, totally forgot I'd asked the same things when i had Dante. She's fine when we leave but when we come home her is completely hyper, jumps around on us, pushes us and pee's. Also, she follows me everywhere, my own shadow doesn't follow me around this much
. She really is a nice dog but it's beginning to get annoying, especially since my mum has knee problem and when Cassie greets us her tail flick's at the knees. We're covered in bruised. How do i calm her down? Ignoring her just makes it worse, she then becomes persistent. On the heat front, she does lick herself a lot but i don't see a discharge and since she's always clingy i doubt i'd see the difference. We're trying to contact the PDSA to get her spayed but their lines have been busy all week, it's terrible. Would the other dogs be more persistent with her if she was in heat? I take her for a walk and we meet other dogs but they seem fine with her. i don't want to put her in danger if she is in heat. She's great with commands like sit and when i call her name she comes but she just doesn't seem to grab the concept of 'go to bed', any advice? |

Re: Cassie my little prophet
I have looked at the photos of Cassie - she is lovely.
I jsut wanted to share something with you. I lost my most special friend, Nelson, in May this year, and I had a really hard time at first with my new puppy - I couldnt stop comparing! But then I realised I didn't want my new dog to be like Nelson. Nelson is so so special nothing can ever replace him or fill that place in my heart. My whole world fell apart when I lost him...and my life will never be complete without him, but that doesn't mean I can't keep living and making the most of my life. I realised I got my new puppy, Bella, because Nelson taught me how rewarding it is to love a dog, not because I wanted to replace Nelson. And I am now very happy with my new puppy. She is her own character and she keeps me busy and I am happy I can give her a good life. I am sure you will have better luck with Cassie than with Dante. Just don't give up and remeber that Charlie will ALWAYS be special and you will always love him...but that doesn't mean you can't love Cassie and make a new friend! I look forward to hearing about how you and your new friend get on!!! |

OK i would ignore her when you come home. If she's peeing in excitement of seeing you, then i would ignore her for a bit but you say that makes her worse....in which case i have no idea what you could do to calm her down lol!!

Re: Cassie my little prophet
She looks collie cross lab.
with regards to SA, i agree with ad_ 1980. just completely ignore her and if you have a garden let her straight out so she doesn't toilet the house. I know you said it doesn't work but it just needs persistance. Also, you could try bach rescue remedy, few drops in her food/water and it will help her adapt and will also calm her a bit - worked for my collie cross anyway and is also useful for fireworks and anything that may upset her etc |
