Re: 10 most smart, stupid and dangerous...

Its interesting, any idea how they made their decision on the lists??

I wonder why golden retrievers are meant to be more intelligent than labrador retrievers, any idea guys??

I think re the dangerous list, any dog can fit into that category depending who has owned it!! I was surprised poodles came out above retrievers in the intelligence stakes, not that they aren't clever I just thought some other dogs were a bit more clever

Without defining 'intelligence' and 'dangerous' it is without meaning.

Just to say - I didn't do this list !! before anyone jumps on me, lol just what I've found online and thought it'd be interesting to see peoples opinions

It seems to have been done by the dogs history/breed/obedience levels etc. Not quite sure though.

Re: 10 most smart, stupid and dangerous...

I disagree with the dangerous dog list.

The intelligence list I can only comment on my own breed (german shepherd). Sky is very quick to learn however my mastiff pup is almost as fast so I wouldn't place her in the least intelligent.

It all comes down to the individual dog

I know. I've seen the list before.

At a guess I'd say someone has confused 'intelligence' with 'trainability' which is a huge (and unsupportable) assumption.

The 'dangerous' part is just someone's fantasy without any substantive justification at all and serves to perpetuate false and damaging stereotypes.

Re: 10 most smart, stupid and dangerous...

Well I would disagree with basset hounds being the least intelligent - i've had a few friends who have had them, and they are highly intelligent. I would also add setters to the intelligent list. I'm sure everyone who owns one of those dogs on the least intelligent list would disagree and those whose dogs don't appear would too.

Re: 10 most smart, stupid and dangerous...

The intelligence list is trainability definately the "stupid dogs" are the ones bred to go "Sit sure I'll think about and maybe do it if there's something in it for me." The dangerous list I don't agree with.
