Re: Dog Walker!!

If you were on a farm track isn't there a risk that some of those dogs will find livestock if not supervised. I know when I take mine out to the farm tracks I'm really careful to make sure they are kept away from farm animals as they get shot if they annoy them. (not that I think they should be allowed to harrass farm animals but the fear of them being shot is def the worst thing for me)

Re: Dog Walker!!

OMG that sound really bad - i own a small pet care service but only ever walk a max of 3 dogs at 1 time if they are well behaved. I have insurance and there doesnt seem to be a limit but im sure even if she was insured that she wouldnt be covered. Nobody could handle that many dogs and im sure the owners dont know about it.

Re: Dog Walker!!

That's awful, our dog walker is insured to walk only 6 dogs at a time, I'm sure the lady you saw can't have insurance.

I'd be horrified if if were my Alf being walked with so many others, as a pack animal, she'd have no chance getting him back!

Re: Dog Walker!!

It won't take long before she loses one and gets a very hefty lawsuit to contend with. I just hope that it doesn't get hurt in the process.

Compare it with our modern schools, huge groups of school children on day trips with just one adult to x kids... Luckily children can't run as quickly.

Re: Dog Walker!!

We have a dog walker whilst we are at work - but, he only takes ours for a walk with, occasionally, a Labrador from across the road. He walks them in our local fields which they are used to, and meets many people that we know - spies! They would tell us if anything untoward was going on. If I heard he was taking that many, I would be cancelling him immediately! and probably informing NARP which he is registered with.

He is actually very good, and the dogs live with him if we go on holiday. He treats them and loves them like his own.

Re: Dog Walker!!

Sounds like a lazy dog walker, i don't spose she'd make as much if she walked a sensible number at a time. It seems like a total recipe for disaster, i certainly wouldn't pay a dog walker for that service

While the number of dogs seems way too many to me I remember seeing photos/videos of someone on another forum who owned about 15 dogs taking them all out together in some fields and being amazed, but that was 1 pack which the owner knew very well and they did look in control.

Re: Dog Walker!!

That's dreadful - what if the dogs ever ran off, she would never be able to get it back with other 15 on her hands aswell.

Re: Dog Walker!!

unless is on a private field a single dog walker can walk max 4 dogs in the Manchester area.

except for the great opportunity this is for the dogs (i would love to be able to take so many dogs on a field trip...)...i think it's a bit risky though...
