Do they work?

Re: D A P Collars?

I have not needed to use one myself, but like you, have heard mixed reviews about them.

Re: D A P Collars?

Never needed one before now but I have a DDB that sometimes acts like a baby and started to look into these collars to help him maybe - but before diving in and buying one wanted some views about it first...
Anyone?

Re: D A P Collars?

I don't know of anyone who has used a collar, but know of quite a few people who have used DAP deffusers in the home, some say they were wonderful, some said they made no difference, but no-one has ever said they made the dog worse.
What works for one dog doesn't always work for another, also owner expectations need to be taken in to account. See if your vet hires them, some do, then you could try before you buy.

Re: D A P Collars?

Jenny that would be great but when I asked our vet he didnt seem too impressed with the DAP range. I think I shall go ahead and get one and give it a try - then at least I can come back here and report what I think myself.

Re: D A P Collars?

DAP is very useful. It works for some dogs, others it doesn't. It's hit and miss. The diffuser is a good idea I think. And the spray. The collars are not so much though. I just spray a bandana and put it round my dog's neck, much cheaper and spray lasts ages. The collar only lasts 4 weeks once opened but the spray you can use anytime you need it without it 'going stale'. Although collars would be good for around bonfire night just once a year!

Re: D A P Collars?

Hi Debs
Havn't used the collar but tried the plug in for a Rott that was terrified of fireworks. Was recomended by a vet but made no difference at all I'm afraid. Finally tried tranquil-x liquid whiched seemed to help.

We tried the diffuser for fireworks too and it made no difference whatsoever!
