Re: Favourite Breed?

Rotties and GSD's My family had GSD's when I was a teenager (shared our house with greyhounds until we lost our last one when I was a very young girl), and then when I moved out of home much later my first dog was a Rottie. Both breeds are just ones thatt I love, their intelligence is amazing, they are faithful and loyal companions, and they are both beautiful breeds. When we were looking for a dog last year after my husband lost his faithful old girl (a labrador X that he got from Battersea) of 16 years, we went to the dog expo and crufts etc. to look at all the different breeds. The one breed I wanted was the Akita as friends of mine had one years ago and he was a beautiful dog however when we spoke with Akita breeders at the dog expo they advised us not to get one as their opinion was that they are not good around cats. to be honest, I was totally gutted as I had my heart set on it but going off what the breeders told us, it was the wrong choice for our home and lifestyle. We obviously needed a breed that would be fine with our cats and tiny kittens. I mentioned the Rottie to hubby, his mum was horrified lol, and we eventually found Jag

To be fair though, I do love all breeds
