Ben sounds like he was a lovely boy and it sounds like you have some wonderful cats too.

Sorry for your loss, such a sad story. You did not do anything wrong so dont blame yourself, you showed him love and care when he needed it most.
Our girl was given Rimadyl for her spine but before she started she had to have a blood test to check her kidney function. She had a short course but not much efect so was changed to steriods which seem to be working

I have just read this! I am now heart broken!! I have also lost a couple of cats because of vet's bad diagnosis/treatment and my dog has lost insurance cover because of erroneous note!! So not a fan of vets, really!

You were not to know some dogs don't tolerate Rhymadil, and it is awful that they didn't offer proper analysis. Bet they asked you if you were insured, they always do before they make any suggestion. If you have insurance there are tons of possibilities to try (sometimes even too cruel), if you are not they just try the cheapest options.

Sad as it is when it comes to an older pet they know too well that in case of death and aggravation between the parties they might risking losing their fee.
