Itchy

Our little toy poodle puppy was groomed on monday hes nice and smart now bless him but hes a bit itchy around his tail area keeps trying to bite his tail and is holding it a bit funny he had it half clipped any advice as to what i could do it must be driving him mad!

Make sure he has no clipper rash where he is trying to bite it! Or it could be that a stray hair clipping is stuck there if so get a little warm water and just wash around the area where he is trying to bite.

my toy poodle kai ( the boy) does this when his tail is clipped, then he tries chasing the end of his tail. but he only does it for a couple of days.silly begger lol.

Have you any hibiscrub?? if not very dilute dettol and then put some sudocrem or e45 or something like on it sounds as if he has a little clipper rash

Some dogs do suffer from Clipper Rash, espcially if its the first time they have had it done. I know the chap who trainned me suggested putting lanacain(sp?) on the area after we have clipped it, to stop it from being irritated, espcially hygiene clips, because shaving around the delicate areas must be even more irritating.

What clip did you have him in? I prefer them in the show clips.

First time I have heard of that I have had numerous dogs in that are first timers and havent gone away with clipper rash!!!!
