Re: What is your dog learning currently?

Koda needs to re-learn how to be a good dog!!

We've got ongoing training with sit/stay/down/wait/watch etc. Recall is going well (from a lead's distance away!) accept when he's interested in something else - although I don't think he'll be coming off the lead any time soon given the husky part of him!

He's quite good at 'leave it' too.

The lady who took the training classes tried a target stick for Bobbie..........Bobbie ate her target stick. They had a great love hate relationship.

Rufus got used in a few examples of how to teach a dog to do something using food so he loves the lady that takes his class.

It's amazing how quickly he learns if there's food available, then how quickly he forgets when we're out of treats. He still somehow remembers it when we have treats again.

He did a perfect drop earlier (after picking up half a burned out firework in a spot popular for dog walking, but that's something else) so that's obviously sinking in. His recall's getting better too, though not sure if I'd feel confident with him offlead where he can escape yet.
