how soon should i start exercising the mum after shes had the pups.......thanks roy

Not until they have all gone to their new homes,in around 8 weeks.
She could carry infection and pass it on to the pups.

when she's ready to leave them they she'll tell you

Usually by day 2 or 3 my girls get excited at the rest of my gang going out so they tag along if they want to. I play it by ear and let them tell me

If you are worried about germs or whatnot then don't walk her in high dog population areas and wipe her milkbar and legs down with a weak dettol solution before letting her back in with the pups.

Personally, I feel keeping bitches in for 8 weeks is a little cruel. My girls wouldn't cope at all...but then they do get walked 2 or 3 times a day usually right up until the first pup is out.

i no i read two weeks is the right time to start exercising the mum, but as sally anne says the pups are more likely to pick up germs, i also feel guilty leaving mum in when i take the boys out as george says it is unfair and yes 2months is a long time but thinking about it and going through each answer ive recieved ive decided what to do , i shall keep mum in i dont think ill jepordise the pups health 8 weeks will do her head in and mine 2 but losing any pups would be worse .....thanks every1 again ..roy

You could always do some stuff with her in the garden,one to one time

I have never taken my bitches out when they have pups,they are to precious to lose
