walked dog, big mistake

went with the mrs and took the dog for his teatime walk earlier.
big mistake lol.

only had my op on friday and the docs told me to be as mobile as i could and walk a little more each day.

so off we went, me on my crutch lol.

now i am in agonies again and feeling very sore,

no more walks for me for a while.

wasnt due the op for 6 - 8 weeks but it went pear shaped again last week and the doc decided to operate the next day.
i now have a lovely 6 inch scar from my groin up to my belly where a 4 inch clot was removed from my femoral artery.

Re: walked dog, big mistake

Tums don't seem to fix that quickly, I think that there is just too much movement there, whatever you do.
Maybe you should build up more slowly
Not worth overdoing it and ending up with internal scar tissue, that could give you trouble for years to come
Look after yourself

Re: walked dog, big mistake

Is there anybody who could take the dog out for you until you're feeling a bit better?

Re: walked dog, big mistake

Oh no I'm sorry you're hurting like. I know 2nd hand how that goes. My dad had surgery but still went on to make sure our Beagle mix got walked...lol

I am having Knee surgery in the next 2-5 years to replace the non-existent cartiledge there. I'll have a mutt, a pom, a Samoyed, and a Dobermann to contend with! lol Its worth the pain in my eyes XD

You could try letting your dog chase a laser pointer light around for a bit, that worked when I was in wheelchair with my Dobermann
