Re: Fed up with waiting

I wont be making a complete decision until i meet the owner obviously, but the woman that went to see them today has been breeding, showing and training dogs for well over 30 years and has had many dogs at Crufts and various other shows so i trust her 100%. She has given me a few other places to look at also so i will be looking into those as well.

The chances of me getting one of the pups from the litter at the end of the year are very unlikely as they have a waiting list for them.

Its not a case of i want now otherwise i would have gone for any dog i could get and got it weeks ago. I have spoken to the lady mentioned above and she has been helping me with my search and would only give me names of reputable breeders, i think this one is just a bit of bad timing really not helped by a very young girl who i am sure maybe brill at looking after the dogs and things but not really someone to sell the pups.

Re: Fed up with waiting

I cant believe that a responsible breeder would allow strangers to come to their home when they are not around to view puppies - just my humble opinion - I know I wouldnt allow it

Re: Fed up with waiting

I would take advice from posts on this thread, contact the breed club.

One or two things don't add up so go with your gut feeling.

I know waiting is worse than pulling teeth when you are ready to extend your family but you can be sure that the puppy you choose is the right one for you, and once you find the right breeder you will feel a lot happier.

Good luck

Sue

Re: Fed up with waiting

Thanks for your advice and opinions and like i said i am going to speak to the owner first (who is on the list for the midlands GSD breed club) before i decide anything for definate and i will see what i think then. If i still dont think it is right and i dont get the right answers i will not have the pup but if she had genuine reasons to be away and not just that she fancied a holiday and gives the answers i am looking for to other questions then i will consider it.

I am not going to go into it blind and just take it cause i can or anything like that, i am going to dig into it, its a lot of money to pay and i made a mistake before when buying a pedigree(it was a cat not a dog but same things apply), i'm not about to do it again.
