Re: How many times a day do you walk your dogs

Well, Paddy's only a pup (and is considered a large breed) so I have to be careful these first 12 months not to over-exercise him physically.

He gets one main walk in the daytime around 5pm to the local park (which I must admit is really beautiful), and we do mental-exercise through the day as well as visit lots of places and people to socialise him.

Here's some pics of the park that Paddy is lucky enough to go to each day:

Re: How many times a day do you walk your dogs

Love that top picture, thats the type of place my dogs love to run through when they are in harness, sadly most of my old trails have now been developed so when I see a trail like that I get a strong yearning for it lol.

Re: How many times a day do you walk your dogs

Week days all of mine get hour in the morning off lead through fields and cliff tops, and evening around an hour either on the beach in the winter or up the cliffs and fields in the light evenings. At the weekends they get the same but Sumo and Sidney then also come with me to the horse so they spend all day off lead running riot with the yard owners dogs and generally having a fine old time!! My dogs are always walked off lead, I live extreamly rurally so have no need for them to be on lead.

Re: How many times a day do you walk your dogs

I have two Lurchers who are the laziest dogs ever! They wont go for a walk in the morning, so I take them out for 2 hours in the evening, mostly off the lead as I live next to fields.

Re: How many times a day do you walk your dogs

Murphy is only a puppy so I'm concious of not over walking him.He comes with me on the morning and evening school runs but walks half way and is carried the rest as its 25 mins each way .He is getting a heavy lump lol but he is stubborn and sits and refuses to walk and I don't like to push it as I know he should only have 15 mins walk .He gets an off lead walk on a weekends
