Re: Pet Insurance

im with pet plan and they have just quoted me at just under £12 for each dog, although it was £15, and i said is that the best they can do, so they gave me two months free, knocking it down to the other. i hadn't heard of healthy pets tho, so might take a look at them, just to see.

Re: Pet Insurance

I should have done my insurance by now but we have had a very expensive few weeks so I have to admit I was kinda putting it off but was still in the process of deciding which company to go for as they all seemed to have fors and againts like the amount cover and excess etc so I have just looked at Healty pets as it was recommended and have taken cover with them as they seemd a really good price for good cover.

My quote was £19 a month for my 2 dogs I went for the silver policy but if your money was really tight the bronze at £11 would have been better than nothing, good that they give a choice, I was tempted by the cheaper option but the silver was much more for the money. The excess was a lot lower than most aswell at £50. And they take credit cards so I can pay it next month when things are back to normal

Glad its done now another thing ticked of the 'must do' lis!

Re: Pet Insurance

i'd check out who the insurance is underwritten by when taking a policy out. We're with animal friends for our oldie and despite him having no health problems up until now, they are a nightmare paying out. They are underwritten by E & L. Out other 2 are with sainsburys but we've not had to claim for anything up to now with them, touch wood.

Re: Pet Insurance

I am insured with pet plan as when I got my dog as a [pup- just like u we had a months free insurance. However, like you we found that the follow up quote from this package was very expensive and so we went online and got a different quote which was a lot cheaper. If i were you i would shop around and get several different quotes and then compair the cover and price of each.

Re: Pet Insurance

I'm with Sainsburys who are very reasonable and recently had a claim of over £800 which they paid out pretty quickly with no probs.
I would be careful when swapping insurances, as I've heard if your pet has had a previous condition and you don't declare this to your new insurer they may not pay out
