You can see by the shape of her eyes at the time that she is happy, so is this a smile, or just a natural facial shape? When we first got her she was very timid, but she 'smiled' when we showed her love, something she hadn't been shown much of before.
I searched the internet to try and find out but everything I could find was relating to the dog opening the mouth and panting with a smile-like expression.
Anyone know?
I just went through my album trying tofind a pic that we took of our collie, my son dried Benji's teeth and turned up his top lip and it looked like he was giving a big grin, I cant find it damn it. lolololol

Re: Can dogs smile?

My Rhodesian Ridgeback smiles at us, he has a full range of facial expressions (and he knows how to use them)
We also found by accident the other day he doesn't like the Olbas Oil (Sniffy stick it up your nose thing) It was sat on the arm of the sofa and he sniffed at it, jumped back and curled his top lip right up with a big wrinkly forhead frown. Which made us chuckle. He won't go near the thing now
