I found a dry kibble dog food that is 75% meat! Might try it...

Hi everyone,
Well, I am quite excited (but maybe you will burst my bubble...we'll see).
I've been looking around at alternatives for Paddy, because as you are aware, he's not overly keen on dry kibble foods (unless I make them smell more 'meaty' with chicken fat or bacon fat etc.)

Anyway, I have just found a new complete dry dog food that I haven't heard of before made by a company called Applaws. It's 75% meat and 25% vegetables.

On their website, there are testimonials galore from breeders stating that their fussy dogs wolfed down the Applaws rather than "a.n. other brand" when given 2 bowls to eat from!

I am hoping that it's true

Unfortunately, for our friends outside the UK, it would appear that this is a UK made food and only available here at the moment, but I am interested to hear if anyone else has tried it yet?

I emailed the company and asked for a sample, so I shall report back if I get one!

My pair love the tinned Applaws food, unfortunately it's very expensive to feed all the time so they just get some as an occasional treat.

I wouldn't think that the people in the USA would be too fussed lol! They have a brand called "The Honest Kitchen", I am still trying to persuade them to bring that out here because its THE BEST STUFF EVER.

Good luck with your food switch

Mmm, US usually get better quality stuff, its nice to see one in this country!!
Ive tried the cat foods, they are great. Mine have the tinned food and that is fantastic, you wouldnt know it was for dogs!LOL
Too expensive for big dogs I imagine, 1 tin would barely be a mouthful for some breeds..

My dogs normally will not touch dry food and I was amazed that my boys absolutely loved Applaws Complete Dry. If I had not seen it for myself I would not have believed it. We had tried the 75% chicken and lamb Applaws but I wanted to see what the other ingredients shown on the pack were. I was really pleased that there are no cereals but just wholesome ingredients such as eggs, carrots, potato, salmon oil and natural extracts such as seaweed, chicory, peppermint, rosehip and the list goes on. My neighbour dog is on Orijen but given the choice between Applaws or Orijen, Applaws was the clear winner. We even mixed up the two bowls and Jamie just picked out the Applaws kibbles.

My cats love Applaws, but I think it would be too expensive to feed my dogs it permanently...

Applaws have done a wet food for a good while now, though the cat food is a lot more popular than the dog. it is quite expensive.
they launched the dry food earlier this year. had a few customers try the cat food, but no-one has asked for the dog food yet.
i believe it is quite expensive?

really high quality stuff though.

let us know how u get on.
