All four of my GSD's have been quick to learn, so interested at what age your dog learned to toilet outside.

Luika is still having the odd wee accident, but at only 9 1/2 weeks old, he has now stopped pooing inside. Tends to go by the pond now!!!!

Question is, does breed have any bearing on their speed to learn?

Tyler only had 2 accidents in the house,my fault not his,I wasn't watching him closely enough,he was toilet trained around 5 months old,Meg was a pain in the rear to toilet train,but again at around 7 months old she was clean,don't think it has anything to do with breed to be honest.

Toby took forever and was 18 months old before he was fully house trained, JJ was good and was about 4 months and Georgie about 12 months, she kept getting cystitis though so that was part of the problem.

We got Zac when he was 3mths and he was already house trained (apart from a couple of acciedents) but that was because he had to settle in

Poppy was toilet trained at about 12 weeks old. She was very quick to learn.

Our staffy, Naz, hardly ever had an accident in the house and within about 2 weeks of having him he was going outside but Mia, our Rottie, was awful. She was still pooing and weeing over night at 9 months. In the end we got her a crate and she stopped straight away. In hind sight we should have done that right from the start.

When we had our black lab he was toilet trained by 13 weeks. He was a smart dog though!

My terrier Patch was trained by 3 months and we have never had an accident, touch wood, my ex puppy farm corgi was and is immaculately clean

my dogs live out side so i dont care

Its an interesting one. Would love to hear from any Boarder Collie owners on this.
