You might feel bad having him watching you and not being able to give him some - but you'll feel a lot worse if you are clearing up wall to wall shat when he's pebbledashed your house

Re: New Dog Owner

I can already tell he's getting better, by his poop.

:S

Yesterday it was like a flat lump, today it's hard small bits.

Brb, off to be sick.

i disagree with putting him in another room when you are eating, because this will not make him learn that he cant have your food.

when you are eating, if he comes near to you, your plate or any other member of the family, you should tell him no, back off, or even if you have to move him backwards a few paces then he will get the idea. vegas is only a 9 week old puppy and she learnt very quickly. i know this works because i have done it with her, its the best method i think. when we eat, she just lays down and goes to sleep straight away, because she must think that our food time is rest time for her.

i do agree with you here providing you can stay strong!!!!! this is how mine were taught - and i dont have any problems at dinner - but if you dont think you can be strong id think about moving him to a different room....... it all depends how stong you can stay when they are trying their best to make you feel guilty!!!!!!! ( my oh nearly gave in a couple of times - good job i stayed strong!!!!! the only prob we have is with our cats trying to 'nick' our dinner - never worked with them they are more persitant!!!!!)

i think you just nee to let him settle in and see what works for you.... cant wait to see pics.....

oh my god your cat tries to take your dinner!!!!

when i had my cat she would never take anything, as we tought her and told her straight away. when she got bigger she would sit with us at the table and lay down, sometimes go to sleep.

pics of your new dog germanXcollie would be fab!

yeah!!!!! its our bengal taboo - she a little bugger!!!! nothing and i mean nothing stops her - we have tried everything she is the most persistant cats you could ever meet - what she does is sits on your shoulder and when you lift the fork up to your mouth she tries to grab it.... (im sure many of you will laugh at that - but its very annoying!!!!) she has a cast iron stomach it doesnt matter what you have she wants it even if its chinese takeaway!!!! we've just got used to her now - by the way shuting her doesnt work as she rips up the carpet..... as i said a little bugger!!!!!!
