Re: Ooooh! Makes my blood boil!

There is case when you do need to pop in the shop while you have them in the car ie. I take mine caravaning with me but I would never leave them in the caravan alone so they have to come to the shops but I definitely would rather they were tied up in the shade somewhere than stuck in the car or caravan.

No, once the coat starts to form maps, they don't shed at all. Keeping cool is not a problem either. In Italy they are out on the mountains all year round, and it's really hot in summer and really cold in winter. The maps are nature's way of keeping them cool in summer and warm in winter - air gets trapped inbetween the maps and acts as their own air conditioning system. It's fascinating - we'll be on a walk, and I'll be sweating like mad, but they won't even be panting - and underneath their coat their skin will be cool.

Didn't know that! Thanks, MrsD, I'll remember that!

You're right - I was almost as angry at the security guard as I was at the woman! And he was about 12 .......... well, perhaps a little older

I can't understand people, ignorance is not an excuse especially with three dogs.

A thank you would have been nice. Well never mind the dogs will have appreciated your help and that's all that matters.

Sue
You're right, Sue. Poor things - I just hope it makes her think in future.

Some stops are unavoidable, but if we are travelling with our dogs, one of us always stays with them in the car so that we can have windows wide open - it means we have to take it in turns to eat and visit toilets etc, but at least we know they'll be safe - both from the weather and thieves. And if one of us is on our own and really has to stop, we do as you do and tie them up outside.
