Was talking to a friend today and she told me her vets had a lot of complaints this year about front line not working on peoples pets. Think there is a problem with the fleas getting to imune to it and its now not meant to be working properly. Have any of you had the same trouble as i was just going to restock for my own cat and dog and dont want to spend out if there not working correctly. Maybe i should try stronghold. Whats your thoughts. ?

I rarely put anything on my dogs,only if i have to but have found that the frontline does not seem to be as effective on ticks as it used to be.

My vet has told me that she has heard this from alot of people and it seems that ticks are becoming resistant to it.

I cannot comment on the other products i'm afraid i've never used them.

aS FAR AS I CAN REMEMBER FRONTLINE WASNT GOOD FOR TICKS BUT OK FOR FLEAS WHERE AS I THINK STRONGHOLD DOES TICKS ALSO. CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG.

Frontline should do ticks for a month,fleas for 3 months but we found it was only working on the ticks for about a week

aHH REALLY I DIDNT RELISE THE TICK BIT IN USING FRONTLINE. YES IM TRYING TO LOOK INTO USING SOMETHING ELSE BUT THERES NOT THAT MUCH THAT ACTUALLY WORKS UNLESS BROUGHT FROM THE VET OR ONLINE VET CHEMISTS.

I have been using Advantix since last year and my westie hasn't had any ticks at all this year - she usually has them every summer. It has to be bought from the vet or you can get it online via a prescription - although having said that my friend bought it online without a prescription

Havent heard of that one will ask about it in vets when i call in. Thanks . x
