Re: Another Scam

That does read like your average scam response. You have to be very careful looking for pets online as there are hundreds of scammers who operate on ALL advertising websites and are usually located in Africa but pretend to be from the UK. You can tell they are scammers as they usually advertise using very cute photos of the dogs or other pets, and usually they create adverts for popular expensive breeds like Bulldogs, Chihuahuas, Maltese and put a price of between £100 and £200. As they seem so cheap many people handover their money online quickly without thinking. The problem is once you send money via western union or money gram, there is NO way in which you can get the money back and even the police cant trace them. The only advice to take so as not to be scammed is to never send money over the internet for a pet and always visit the pet at their home before getting one.

Our other site www.pets4homes.co.uk , which is the UK's most popular pet advertising site with over 1.3 Million monthly users and over 35,000 pets advertised at any one time, combats these scammers from operating on the site by having people who manually read and check EVERY advert before approving it to appear on the Pets4Homes site. It is very time consuming for such a popular site but is worth it to protect our website users from these scams.

Cheers

Re: Another Scam

Yeah its money, if they live in cameroon or nigeria where the average wage is probably the equivalant to £100 or lower (im just guessing), then scamming someone out of £500 is a LOT of money.

Re: Another Scam

Very true Mark - it is such a shame people have to use animals to make money out of like this... to me it is the same as using a child, your pulling on ppl's heart strings and it is the easiest way to make money

Re: Another Scam

while looking to buy my bulldog i contacted a few people to get very strange replys. One said on asking about his puppys for sale, that i can transfer the money and the puppy would be on the next shipping from scotland in the morning. I thought it was a bit strange as he wouldnt meet up with me and i was willing to travel from liverpool to see them!!!
Had a few that seemedto not ring true so would advise everyone to steer clear if they think they might be fraudsters!!
Also happening an awfull lot with cars
