Fighting for tyson
i knew of a staffie dog last year who was kicked and battered and locked in a cupbord for up to 16 hrs a day, The RSPCA wernt interested as i hadnt witnessed the beatings although i had seen the cupboard but the witness were to fightened to speak up as they were living with the guiy, so the moment he decided to give him i jumped for joy.
Id o had him but my dogs were agressive with him, my friend wanted him, she tried him the 6 kids loved him and he lovd them, playing for hours but the exisiting dog gave him hell.
It was desperate at this point but evey staffie rescue i phoned was full any other typ of rescue was either full or didnt want him because of his breed.
In desperation i stopped a lovely couple in the woods walking some staffies, turns out they were into the showing side but knew some rescues but even they coudnt get him into one they did however find a retired couple who had lost their dog and they agreed to have him.
They struggled at first as he is pure mussle and was so boistrous but they all soon settle down togther, two weeks ago i bought the paper and was so shocked 'visious attack dog ordered to be destroyed' i coudlnt believe it.
According to the paper Tyson had savaged a dog in the park then months later attacked a man he was passing on a narrow path, the owner wa taken to court find just under £500 banned from keeping dogs for two years and the dog ordered to be put down.
Ive had a phone call today from the man i met in the woods, Regarding the fight witht he dog, it was more a tussle between them and both were equally to blame, neither suffered injury. As frot he man he turned out to be the next door neighbour, one of those that is alwasy moaning and hated by everyone he often provokes Tyson through the fence, on theis day he saw the owner setting off for a walk and he charged down his path onto the street shouting and waving his arms, it startled Tyson who jumped up and grabbed the mans arm, he had some small indents from the bite no broken skin or ripped clothes, even the hospital refused to give him a tetanus shot because it wasnt a prper bite.
So the guy reported him as a dangerous dog, i feel its the courts making an example of the breed, Tyson is a fantastic dog despite the abuse he suffered if it hadnt of been for my dogs (and cats) id of had him in heartbeat.
Its now gone to appeal and we are fighting to keep Tyson alive, ive found four people so far to testify and give charchter refrences, not sure if we have to go to court but the owner has found a solicitor specialising in dangerous dog cases, i have to put my refeence in writing for now.
Of course the law is there for a reason i agree with that, but Tyson is not a dangerous dog, my own dogs have even fought with each other are they dangerous? he isnt dog agressive, my border collie is way more agressive.
fingers crossed we get a good outcome as this dog deserves to live.
