I've got Milo insured with Halifax and they have been great with me so far! The one time I've claimed they dealt with it quickly and without any problems. Costs about nine quid a month at the moment! That reminds me I need to add Jayjay to it before his 6 weeks free runs out!

cheap is not always best make sure the illness is covered for the lifetime not just a year or so, if your pooch gets a chronic illness (i.e. diabites) you can end up having to pay for their treatment after a year even if you havn't used up all the avaible money! We are with pet plan, had my bunny on it too and they do seem quite good (so far!)

I just got loads of quotes the best I came up with were Halifax, directline, M & S and Tescos.

They all seemed to be about the same but check the amounts covered for as the cheaper policies tend to only cover a fairly low amount like £1000 and if you have a serious problem that will only cover the deposit!!

We used to have Petplan but the premiums became very expensive so I searched around and found that Morethan offered very similar cover for almost half the price - plus you get a discount if you apply online. I've only had to claim once since we swapped over, but the claim was settled promptly with no fuss.

Thanks to everyone who replied, I have found one called Healthy Pets which seem to be the best rate. They are also AXA so I trust them (hope so!)
