Poor Dave!

We were having a great evening, me and next door took the dogs for a swim and thy were really enjoying themselves. They started getting a bit cold (their fur goes into a mohican when they get cold!) so got them all out for a run on the grass and noticed Dave was bleeding from somewhere.
Couldn't really see as they were really muddy, so came home.

Walking up the street he was leaving a little spot of blood every step, his front left foot.

He had quite a nasty cut! We cleaned it but I said I wanted to take him to the vet just to be safe, and next door (shes a nurse and used to work with sspca) said we should too.

So, he had more cleaning stuff put on his pad, then some powder (sorry, forgot the name) to stop the bleeding, some cotton wool and a nice red bandage. Then he had an antibiotic jab.
He has got a boot to keep it dry, and he has to keep the bandage on until thursday! So we got him a lampshade to try and stop him getting at it.

He's looking really sorry for himself now though!

I'm really pleased with our vet though, he did not charge us a call out fee, it's only costing us about £27 and we can pay it on thurs

Poor Dave, I hope he feel better soon.

What a fab vet you have. Sadly they seem few and far between nowadays.

Re: Poor Dave!

Ah bless him, hopefully he will be up and running before you realise and it's not too sore for him.

Your vet sounds really good.

Re: Poor Dave!

And I was planning to go into town and help Nana paint the rest of her living room. But I can't go leaving Dave incase he takes the bandage off!!

Typical- get a week of from my monster (lol I mean son) and I have to spend it at home looking after the dog! Lol! I can't even ask next door to watch him as he would be upset not to be able to run around with Bullseye.

Re: Poor Dave!

Well, he slept like a (very noisy) log all night.
Only took the bandage off thismorning, but I completely blame my oh for not getting out of bed so I had to keep running up to wake him up and Dave took this oppurtunity to pull the shoe off.
The cut is starting to heal so I just put a bit of cotton wool back and a bit of padding round the cut then used the rest of the bandage the vet gave us. Thankfully Dave has been good all day, even though he was left in his crate for a while at nana's.

So, one day of keeping the bandage on down... 3 to go! Lol!
