Re: Flat coated retrievers

surprisingly we don't see a lot if at all being worked.
But we always see them at the country shows we work at. They are always tubby for some reason
Although i saw a gorgeous male called Blake once there in mint condition and was apparently a worker

Re: Flat coated retrievers

When i worked in kennels there was loads of them, but i havent seen one for years now.

I quite like them, very nice natured dogs but can be a little too enthusiastic.

Re: Flat coated retrievers

haha i can see the hyperactivity in skye already. she has absolutely mental moments sometimes! but very smart. shes already pretty much toilet trained and shes only 8weeks old. (probably spoke to soon there..she will do downhill now :P )

dont seem to be to popular a choice of dog it would seem, dunno why. they seem fairly cracking wee dogs!

Re: Flat coated retrievers

I don't think I've ever seen one outside of dog shows but I've heard nothing but good things about their temperment although apparently they're eternal puppies. They were one of the base breeds for the goldens right?

Re: Flat coated retrievers

I've known several both pets and working.
They have all without fail been wonderful dogs and all without fail had a mind of their own and a wee naughty streak
So be warned

Don't let that cuteness fool you they are highly intelligent and she is just working out her strategy to get the better of you
