What do you do when he cries? 17 weeks is young enough to nip it in the bud, but it will be hard, and will require patience.

Where do you leave him when you go out?

Have you tried leaving him in different rooms?

Re: Im really am at my whits end ...

OK. Firstly your 17 week old pup is what he is, a pup, a baby whatever. Of course he's going to hate being left alone. But you can train it out of him. If you're persistent.

Why don't you practice leaving him alone for like 5 mins in a room with a kong or something fun to play with and then if he doesn't make any noise for 5 minutes come back in and praise him. And as time goes by increase that time you've left him alone, eventually he'll realise ok mom's gone, but she'll be back so i'll just shut up.

Do you take him out for a walk before leaving him? Take him out and play with him as much as you can before you leave him. He'll be tired after all that and he won't even know you've left him if he's gone to sleep for a whille.

You can train it out of him, just give him time and patience. I'd worry more if he had this after 6 months!
