Rant

Just under four years ago my mum promised me that if in four years time she wasn’t working the we could get a dog and do agility or obedience with it, and now we will be moving in the summer and she won’t be working so she said we could get a dog, maybe not do agility or obedience but we could defiantly have one, while we where in the process of finding a house we got told of a lab puppy for sale, and after some talking we decided to go look at it (knowing full well we would almost certainly get it if we saw it), but unfortunately some one else went to see before we did and decided to have it, so we weren’t too disappointed we decided that it was for the best and to wait until we moved, so then my mum and her boyfriend found a house and we all went to look at it, they agreed that was the hose they wanted, but because we’re only renting they won’t allow dogs, and I’m both upset and angry that my mum settled for a house where we can’t have a dog knowing full well what she promised me, the only reasons I agreed to moving (it is very far away and I’ll be leaving my friends, my school, and my dad) is because she said I could keep my horse at home and have a dog, I never did really expect to be able to keep Shoreset at home so I’m too disappointed about that, but I am about not been able to have a dog, and it’s in the countryside and in my opinion the perfect doggy place, I don’t want to move know because I’ll be leaving so much behind and not getting anything out of it but I can hardly stay on my own, and every time I try to talk to her about it I always get upset and she ends up shouting at me.

Kind fo pointless I know but I feel a bit better now I’ve got it off my chest

Re: Rant

Has your mum spoken to the landlord as sometimes you can get round the no pets thing if you ask.

Re: Rant

It's not no pets because they are letting us have our cats but they refuse to let us have a dog.

and as for talking to my dad, i have tried and he wants me to stay with him, (he has a dog) but i hate his gril friend who he lives with and i would have to sell Shoreset because although i give all my money towards her it's not eough for everything and he says he won't pay for anything and he wouldn't take me to see her.

Re: Rant

Oh dear you are having a rough time of it at the moment. Its very frustrating being a teenager, everyone around you seems to have more control of your life than you do.

I know its hard to believe at the moment but sometimes the adults that seem to be controlling your life have less choices than you think. I'm sure your mum would love to get you a dog to make you happy, but she also knows finding rented accommodation that allows dogs is very difficult.

Maybe when you move to your new place you will have neighbours with dogs, that you can make friends with.

I hope you settle into your new home and make lots of new friends, just remember however sad and angry you feel at the moment it will not be forever, Before you know it you will be an adult too, making all your own decisions, some good, some bad, like all of us. Best of luck.
