Duke is walked on the lead, until we reach the fields/Countryside then I take him off the lead. We walk these trails regularly so I know the points where he has to be placed back on the leash because of farm animals, horse riders etc..

His recall is getting a lot better this evening a couple were walking down the trail towards us and Duke was off to say hello. I immediately called him and he turned and bolted towards me. I didn't put him on the leash. We played and changed onto another trail that runs parallel. The couple passed and Duke quite happily ignore them.

Not sure whether its my perseverance or the fact he is getting older.
