Does anyone have a Bedlington Terrier?? Been here a couple of weeks now and dont think I've spotted anyone having one?

sorry, i dont know anyone with one. Dont see them very often TBH and i havnt seen one in donkeys.

I've only ever seen them in the show ring they are lovely little dogs though. I don't think they're very common. Are they really hard to groom?

One of my friends has one and he is great but can be a bit yappy.

She wont let him off the lead but her husband does.

I'm not having a problem just yet as Oscar still has his puppy fluff. He'l go into be professionally groomed when he's mature, its a hard trim-over to master. I do want to learn though!

I've got a poodle cross bedlington!! I'm hoping to get a bedlington lurcher by the end of the year too. I only rescue dogs so if a full beddy comes into rescue I'd be very temped. Lovely little dogs.

Hi there my dad has a Bedlington x whippet......he had been bred as a working dog...though he is just a pet.......he is the most scruffy but gorgeous dog ever......

I have had the pleasure to meet several of these delightful little dogs.
We bump into one regularly on our walks, every one that I have met has been so sweet

I am a dog groomer in Worcestershire and I regularly groom a Beddlington bitch. She's less than a year old and very timid although her coat is starting to take shape quite nicely. You need to be completely confident in your groomer as there are groomers out there who learned to groom online and really don't know how to do specialised breeds correctly. Ask for references first if you are not sure. In the worst case scenario, if the groomer doesn;t cut the dog right, the hair will always grow out!

If you cannot find a professional groomer in your local area who is reliable and trustworthy, then you could always contact your local grooming training centre (ask someone at the PetCareTrust) as they may be happy to teach you to groom your dog with a one to one session. The guy who trained me originally offers this service for £150 I think so its worth thinking about.

I don't own one but I look after one where I work, he's a little monster - everyone dreads him coming in because he's a trouble maker with the others dogs lol
