Re: Vets poll ,pet lovers? or money makers???

Our vet is excellent - but one of our dogs (4 years old) needed an endescope, but as the country vet practice he uses could not fit us in went to a large one in the town. What a nightmare, I told them that she had not eaten for over a week, barely managing to drink, and was very ill, and told them that if it was bad tps, as she was suffering. They brought her round, sent her home with various drugs and a huge bill, and we had to tps next day as no cure - we were all really upset and so was our vet.

I think the prices are a bit steep at my vets but they have been absolutely brilliant with Toots and our old rabbit who sadly had to be put down. I have called them out at night and wasnt charged a call out fee. I have phoned them on a bank holiday weekend and they have given advice over the phone. I wouldnt say that they are just in it for the money - they work very hard and genuinely care for animals. I have only had good experiences with our vets but dont have anything else to compare as they are the only ones that I have ever visited.
