Re: why is female dog doing this

is she new to the family? if so she may be displaying a sign of dominance over your children also if they have been near male dogs and she can smell that male dog scent on your kids that may also be a reason if she is close to coming into season

If it's close to her season it will probably be hormones if it's not then it is a sign of dominance. Either way you need to stop her doing it to the children.

How old is she?
It might be to do with hormones then again it might be that she is trying to go up the hierachy in the "pack", bitches do mount other dogs to show they're above them. All you need to do is get your daughter to push her off and grab her by the underside of her throat as if she was a dog telling her off. That should do the trick

Re: why is female dog doing this

she is 1 1/2 years old.
the problem with kathryn and the dog is....the dog is bigger than kathryn when she stands on her hind legs...plus kathryn has motor skills problems so when she is knock she falls over due to lack of balance

ah i see, then hopefully it's just hormones, you could try getting a water pistol then when you see your dog pin Kathryn you could spray her with it. or give the water gun to Kathryn so if you're not around she can spray her when she starts to pin her.
