Re: Bulldog won't walk

on ceasers show what he did was use one of his fav toys and put it in front of him to encourage his walking/also works with fav food. if tihs donsent work try walking him to different places so that he dosent no were hes going and therefore curiosity may make him more excited, also just make it a enjoyable experience for him, priase, treats, toys etc. all make him feel like he has done good
hope this helps (well it did on ceasers show lol)

Re: Bulldog won't walk

Not sure as to how active the bull dog should be but have you considered as said before a quick once over at the vet to check his heart and breathing, if he is over weight too they just get to the point where they cant be bothered cos it puts strain on an already bulky frame they are known to get respatory problems so ive read .

Re: Bulldog won't walk

Hi all

Thanks for all advice. The vet is happy with him, although he does have sore paws alot. He was recently castrated and I wondered if this could be a cause behind his sudden reluctance to walk as all occured about the same time??

Generally they don't need alot of exercise but they do need a short walk a day.

Re: Bulldog won't walk

I'm afraid it's just one of those things when they get it into their head that they don't want to do anything - stubborness is a great trait in these dogs but can be annoying, I know only too well
