Unhappy Brain tumour

Hello
I'm a newbie, and was wondering if any1 out there could help. My white GSD had an MRI scan just over a week ago, and the results confimed my worst fear, a brain tumour. The vet has given her 6 months. Can any1 give advise or recomend anything i could give her to help the last few months a happy time. She is on medication from the vet, but i would like to help her as much as i can. I feel so helpless. Willow is only 7 and 1/2. It breaks my heart to think that she wont be around in 6 months. The meds from the vet have made her sleepy, and slow. So doing the things she enjoys the most are difficult for her.

Thanks
Chrissy01

So sorry to hear your sad news but you are doing the best for her you can you are giving her vet medication BUT most of all you are there to give her the love and care she will need at this stressful time, the trouble is with a brain tumour you cant get to it to do anything to it, we use a lot of homeopathic remedies will have a look through see if I can find anything that may make her days easier.

Enjoy the time with her before she goes to run free at Rainbow Bridge and do all her and your fav things together take loads of photos and videos of her and keep in touch with us on here we have all been through it in one way or another and I dont know if you have ever read Rainbow Bridge I lost a dog with cancer and read this well before he left me and I always say of my animals now that they are running free at Rainbow Bridge. It will bring a tear to your eye but will prepare you for when the inevitable happens.

Re: Brain tumour

Thanks guys. Will make sure i take lots of photos. I lost my boy GSD Clyde 16 months ago, still cry a tear for him. It's so sad to loose another one so soon. I will be left with just 1, nutty Lexi. She is a 4 year old white GSD. She will be own her own, i just can't face getting another one, because it is too much to bear when they go.
Thank you
Chrissy01

That is so sad to loose them so close together, I guess you will prob have another if only just for Lexi so that she will have company we all say never again but it is so raw at the mo.

There is normally someone on here at most times of the day if you need to talk

Re: Brain tumour

Sorry hun. Wish there was some magical cure I could give you, but it just doesn't exist. Enjoy your time you have with her and see if she needs medicine all the time. Maybe she can go without it for X amount of hours everyday so she could do some of the things she loves.

Re: Brain tumour

Being there for and with her is the best you can do.

She will know and feel loved.

Try to be strong for her.

Hugs and kisses from all of us here.
