I HAD A WHITE GSD, 5 YEARS OLD AND IN PERFECT HEALTH. WE TOOK HIM FOR A RUN ONE DAY WITH OUR OTHER TWO DOGS. HE WAS PLAYING WITH HIS BALL AND HE JUST COLLAPSED AND DIED, I TRIED TO RE -SUSSITATE HIM, BUT HE HAD DIED BEFORE HE HIT THE FLOOR. WE HAD TO CARRY HIM BACK TO THE CAR AND DRIVE HOME AND TELL MY DAUGHTER . WE HAD NO WARNING. HE'D JUST GONE AND I STILL CRY TO THIS DAY. ENJOY EVERY SECOND WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL GIRL AND CHERISH EVERY MOMENT. GOD BLESS, THINKING OF YOU.

Re: Brain tumour

Many thanks to all of you, for your kind words. The worst thing is, when i look at her, she looks so young and full of life. Its hard to think she may not be here for christmas. I am finding it hard to accept. She looks at me with those sad eyes, how do i know that it's not hurting her already. Life can be so hard. I fear going to work and leaving her, just incase she might need me. I worry about her, and my other dog, because Willow can be nasty to Lexi, cause she doesn't want Lexi too close. They have always been 2gether, so i can seperate them. It's going to be hard on Lexi, when Willow has gone. So many problems.
Thanks Again

Re: Brain tumour

I'm sorry to hear about your boy GSD. I know how you feel. I lost my boy GSD 16 months ago. I was taking all three of my GSD's out for a walk, they jumped out the car, i turned round and my boy, Clyde (10yrs) was flat to the floor, by the time i got to him, he had gone. A massive heart attack. I was left with two dogs wanting a walk, and one dog lying lifeless on the floor. Thank God for mobile phones, or i would have been in a state. I did have three, i have lost one, gonna loose another one before her time, and i'll be left with one.
It's hard when they go, because they are my life. I don't have children, so they are my babies.

Re: Brain tumour

I think that all of our thoughts are with you both at this terrible time.

Anyone who has lost a dog knows what you are going through. I would make her last days the best ever. I have been spared the thought of knowing that my dog had limited time, so my heart goes out to you.

I am so sorry for your losses! My heart goes out to you! Time does slowly help you to heal. When I lost my last dog an English Setter called Charlie Dog, he was only 4 bless him so i know how you are feeling right now as do our other friends on here! It has took me 7 years to get over charlie dog but now i have my new boy in my life Ozzie and he helps make the world a better place! You are not on your own!

Re: Brain tumour

Not sure whether this post is appropriate, I hope so.

We have just arrived back from Cyprus.

I was giving lots of attention to a SBT, it was obvious she was in her twilight years she is 14 years old she was diagnosed with cancer in November last year and although she was only given 6 months her owner decided to bring her with her to Cyprus.

She is on chemo-tablets and whilst her owner is aware they only have a few weeks that little dog seemed to love life and attention to the full, not only was her tail wagging but her bum was too.

I hope you find this little story heartwarming.

Sue
