Re: Dog Collars!!

When I had my cat twice I found his flea collar hanging from the tree in the garden. Luckily it was a very lightweight one that he could easily get off. I dread to think what may of happened if it had been a proper collar.

Re: Dog Collars!!

Our dogs have always kept their collars on, since it contains their green microchip pendant.

We do not show our dogs so never felt the need to remove the collars.

Re: Dog Collars!!

Hi ,

mine only were collars when they go out for walks - i dont show them but i think its safer to have them off. - my collie used to try and chew at them or would pull the others dogs off.

also a point to mention is its not adviseable for dogs to were collars when they are crated - it is dangerous for a dog to have a collar on whilst in one.

susie and then gang

Re: Dog Collars!!

our dogs only have collars on when being walked on leads and also when travelling in the car, if they are in the paddock being exercised they dont have them on either someone on another forum had an incident when the dogs were playing and one went to grab the scruff of the neck of the other and ended up with his bottom jaw caught in the collar other dog got frightened and tucked his tail and ran - result one dog nearly strangled and the other with a dislocated jaw!!!
