Massive dog poo rant...Am I the only one....

.....who picks up other ignorant peoples dog poo? I took the dogs to a beautiful public park which is possibly THE most well kept and gorgeous park you could imagine, there is a clean huge lake in the middle, a childrens playpark, cricket, tennis and basketball facilities, fishing stands etc yet people let their gods crap all over it and just leave it.

Not only do the council provide poo bins every 100 yards or so they actually provide poo bags so there is absolutely no excuse!!!

I have now started picking up any dog poo which I see and disposing of it properly. Why the hell should I? It makes me so angry. If I do ever catch anyone leaving a poo I walk up to them and offer them a poo bag in a loud voice so people hear nearby. I've not yet had anyone refuse, they have just gone red and picked it up. Call me rude but I do have a good reason, Poppy loves to roll in poo, mostly fox/horse/human but the occasional dog poo gets rolled in so I have to take her home and bath her which puts me at huge risk as I do not have a proper immune system so I could catch all sorts including toxoplasmosis which can be fatal.

Also, what if a child touches it~? in any case it's just bad manners!!

I really hate it!!! I pick up all of the girls poo, the only times I haven't is when the disappear off into hip high grass where I can't find it!

My friends brother is a dog warden who told me that if you see a person leaving their dogs poo and you follow them back to their car/house they will be prosecuted!

Am I alone in this? does it bother anyone as much as it does me? grrrrnonod:nonod:nonod::m ad:

I had to laugh today when walking my dogs on a path that runs alongside an industrial estate. A council van was driving along the road beside the path and the driver called out of the window 'hope you are going to pick that up'. I take it is his job to clean up the area!

Yeah it annoys me when it's not picked , near Laurens school the pavements are full of it, sometimes we have to walk on the road to avoid it...

But even more annoying to me are the people who pick it up , bag it , and then throw it, the amount of full poo bags hanging off trees on our local cycle track is unbelievable

And Joggers/cyclists who run/pedal off in front of their dogs leaving them to do anything they want and never looking back to check where they are. On the walk I take my two on there's a chap who has three dogs off lead and he just cycles off leaving them to do their business everywhere. Makes my blood boil.

Re: Massive dog poo rant...Am I the only one....

I only know of 4 people that live here that pick up behind their dogs and that is me, mum and 2 of our neighbours. The rest stand and watch their dog making a mess but just walk on. They aren't really the type of person you can say anything to though. A few of the older people always say it's good to see people picking up behind their dogs when they walk by. Everyone takes their dog 'round the block' and at one of the corners there is a poop bin and the bags are free from a council office that's not even a 5 min walk away so no excuses really..

I can't understand the reason for anyone to do that!!! That's the most disgusting thing in the world luckily people don't tend to do it in our park (which is nothing short of a miracle - it's full of trees and there's not that many poo bins in some areas) but that must be even worse than just leaving it on the floor!!!

What if the bag fell out of the tree and landed on someone's head? Yes, it would be hilarious to witness (especially if it was someone who'd just thrown poo into a tree ) but it's disgusting

I love the idea of shouting over to people and offering poo bags, I might do that next time, I always carry surplus bags

Re: Massive dog poo rant...Am I the only one....

yes it is soo annoying to see that people dont clean up after there dogs. I always carry extra bags and will clean up what others have left. I also have a musak brilliant thing so if no poo bins around i am at least not carrying full bags in my hand.
