Question feeding

Ted our 17 week old poodle was been fed Butchers when we had him but he seems to have gone off it and i was worried about not eating so we gave him a liitle bit of cesar our other dog has that,do you think thats alright to keep feeding him that or any sugestions on a good food for him its been a long time since we have had a puppy in the house and you tend to forget things.

Re: feeding

My STB Duke went off his puppy food around 16 weeks. I fed him on Bakers complete at the time it was the only food he would eat. I asked the vet for advice and I was told he would be okay on that.

Someone else on this forum will be able to advise you properly.

It may be advisable to speak to your vet.

Re: feeding

My gsd went of her puppy food too she was on burns - after that we tried all the expensive ones but nothing agreed with her - now we feed her on a supermarkets own brand - because believe it or not its the only one we've tried that doesnt upset her stomach - and she doesnt go off it either - she eats the complete - and has a bit of meat at tea time.

Re: feeding

Try him on a good qualiy dry diet, science plan, royal canin, nutro, eukonuba, these are all made with high grade ingredients and are very palatable,i feed my cats and dogs on a dry diet as i think its better for them, higher in nutritional value, better for teeth and usually better for what comes out the other end!! canned(wet) food tends to be a very high percent water.good luck.

Re: feeding

Agree about tinned food.

Science plan is over priced cack in my opinion, the vets put our cats on it when they were ill, they didn't stay on it long after I had a read through the ingredients and saw what was coming out the other end!

Eukanuba adult foods are decent but their puppy variety isn't of the same standard unfortunatly.

I have also found Duke is okay with supermarket brands in regards to it being palatable and doesn't upset his stomach. I'm not sure if we are mixing his diet up a bit too much. One evening he may get supermarket brand pouches, the next evening it could be chicken fillets, steak, fish etc..

He has always got a full dish of Bakers complete, he doesn't stick his head into a dish of food and eat it, he's getting a little better since the cat started pinching it.

Re: feeding

hi my pups are 14 weeks old and i have just started them on the raw diet. they were on purina before and always had the runs, when we got them 3 weeks ago they were being fed on adult working food. now the runs have gone and they love their food, gobbled in minutes. i have husky x malamutes by the way and would love to hear from others with this sort of breed.
