Question Found a Cavalier King Charles today, will it change my dogs behavour/ways?

Hi, got a problem.

I have a Cavalier King Charles, its the most amazing dog in the world, well its my little bros. My bro is disabled, only 11 years old and has just passed his silver dog training award. For those at the blackpool show last year, you would of seen my bro at the show with our dog (his first event)

Today, my mom and little bro were arriving home, and on our street, wondering alone was a Cavalier. My mom put it on a dog lead that we had in the car and walked it to our house.

It has no ID Tag on, it is alittle overweight and looks about 8-10 years old. We have taken it to the vets and been told it is blind in one eye and is not micro-chipped.

We have rang everyone from the police, rspca, animal shelters and pdsa. And no one has reported a dog missing.

But we have been told by nearly everyone we rang, and the vet that if we have the dog warden or rspca collect it after 10 days of no one claiming it, it will be put down.

Why they had to go and tell us this

You could try putting posters in local shops and on lamp posts ect and maybe knock a few doors around the area to see if anyone knows of a dog missing . we had a cat knocked down out side our house before christmas it sadly died in my arms but as it must have been someones pet we posted signs up in our shop ect incase someone came foreward to claim it, unfortunately nobody did but cats can wonder quite far so i took the body to the rspca who said they would dispose of its body poor thing , and make a note of it incase in weeks to come someone did look for it . Do you have a local park it could have been scared and run away from its owner . On the whole cavaliers are quite adaptable and im sure if you descided to keep it things should be ok , In the mean time as tashi said you could post it on various sites as missing good luck with whatever happens , even if you try to find him a new home yourself .
