Dog Friendly South Devon Holiday Help!

Hi
Does anyone know of a good self catering place in Devon that would be happy for two dogs to come?? We used to stay in a self catering apartment in Paignton - which was great - but that has now changed hands and won't allow dogs! We love the Paignton/Torquay area, so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

Check out the Dog Trust website out. They have links with Welcome Breaks (something like that). We intend to take Duke not sure of the actual areas they cover.

You can always try Toadhall cottages too they cover all of devon and cornwall . we have been lucky enough to find a great place in Wales that will have both dogs and even doggy sit on occasions we want ot do something the girls cant do with us . Most self catering web sites will have a catagory of pets welcome , and this will list places welcoming pets some may only take one but you could always enquire .

Thank you all for your help. I will start checking them out. I was sort of hoping that someone would say 'stay at ........, we go there every year with our dogs!!' The place we used to stay at was so nice and friendly, just a shame the new owners want to ban dogs!!!!!!!!

Re: Dog Friendly South Devon Holiday Help!

I could give you the details of where were going but its south Wales not far from Tenby we hav,nt been here before but the ladies who own it sound lovely and dont mond how many dogs you take , infact you cant really go if you dont have dogs , and they take your horses if you have one too as its a farm / stables 10 acres of land no sheep or cows so the dogs dont have any restrictions and can roam till there hearts content .

Its difficult to say stay at...... I've done that in the past for friends and they haven't always had the same good experience we had. You can't please everyone.

It is a shame the new owners want to ban dogs. It could be a number of reasons phobias, allergies bad experiences with dog owners in the past.

Anyway I'm thinking straight today try searching for Dog Trust UK + Holidays. The company is Welcome Cottages. £35 is donated to the Dog Trust on every booking. Just a thought.

Happy holidays

Sue
