Food

Hello everyone!

Just wondered which foods people use, and what they rate as best. Personally I use Hills Science Plan.

Re: Food

Billy is fed Naturediet and raw meaty bones.

For dry i rate arden grange and burns as amongst the best.

Re: Food

I had the same problem with my Husky when she was very young, but found that the Turkey and Rice variety didn't cause a problem. Depends on the pup's ability to process certain proteins so I'm told.

Re: Food

We used to use Royal Canin but he found it too rich so we swapped to Skinners Ruff & Ready and he eats like a gannet now!

Re: Food

I think i read somewhere that chicken is not ideal for sensitive stomachs and that lamb is better.

I feed my boy on JWB cereals-free as his stomach is quite sensitive I think its best to avoid grains and cereals..but only been on it a short while so too soon to pass a definite judgment

don't know about dry food but raw you've got that the wrong way round. you'd give chicken and not lamb! read the raw diet thread that will help you

LOL i course I meant dry, we're not talking raw food there.

But yeah I see why it may not sound logical as chicken is given raw...dont remember what I read lol just a vague impression that I was advised to stay clear from chicken..maybe because of the bad quality of a lot of chicken meat used on dry food..dunno

JWB veggies version is only with lamb, turkey or fish, no chicken as far as I remember!

Re: Food

oblada i think we must have read the same thing lol but i cant remember where.

Lamb in dried or wet food seems to be better - maybe its due to the types of fillers etc they use rather than the meat itself?

For raw... chicken is the best to start with, until the dog is accostomed to the new diet, but lamb is still a suitable food.
