Bloody hell that was scary, Milo won't go on the lead either and they only have access to a paved area unless I'm out there to let them through to the rest of the garden. They soon get used to it, even Milo who has always had access to the whole garden until recently will go on the paved bit if hes desperate.

Have you thought about building him a run-like a fairly big area where he can play and run and still have an area where he can toilet that is entirely fenced in.I never trust to tie a dog up as I have heard of many strangling themselves. You can be totally secure when leaving the house he is safe and cant escape. He should learrn to toilet as a dog should naturally and hopefully forget whatever bad experience he may have endured.Sounds like he could have already tangled himself leaving bad memories..

Re: my pup wont go to the toilet???????????

We have a concrete area and thats the only place they go, its easy to hose down and pick up from, the rest of garden is fenced with 6 foot fencing all round and the grass area is done with trellis so they can only go up there when we open the gate , but they are never tied i would be to afraid they would tangle in it they wont go to loo on leads either so could be something to do with that .
